Please note: Applications for 2019 are currently closed.

CQU invites exhibition proposals from artists at all stages of their careers.

Our Art Space is in an intimate professional setting. As well as wall hanging space, we have four secure glass cabinets for the display of small scale three dimensional works available.

Our mission is to increase awareness of study opportunities in the visual arts and other creative industries at CQUniversity; to engage with artists from the local community and around the globe; and to support our student artists and other art workers in their professional creative endeavours. We are continually working to improve the facilities of our exhibition spaces.

There is currently no fee for use of the exhibition spaces, and a 20% commission applies to all sales of work.

The following Proposal Guidelines have been produced to assist applicants.

The key points of merit on which we assess proposals are:

  • Artistic merit
  • Diversity of artforms in our exhibition calendar
  • Proposals must be clearly expressed.
  • Proposals must be well supported by documentation and images that demonstrate the connection between your proposal and your overall practice as an artist
  • The work proposed must be able to be mounted in the space available
  • The project must be viable in terms of the time frames of the exhibition
  • Engagement with the community and/or the potential to link the exhibition with workshops or other learning outcomes
  • New work or work that has not been exhibited in Noosa previously is given preference.

Please note that while we welcome applications from both interstate and international artists, we are unable to provide any assistance with travel.

The Noosa campus of CQU is located on Goodchap Street, opposite Good Shepherd Lutheran College. The university's Graduate Certificate of Creative and Professional Practice degree has its home at Noosa campus.
